Based on the unanimous recommendation of the Associate Pastor for Family Ministries Search Committee and the Personnel Committee, Micayla Neill will be presented to the Westwood Baptist Church family in view of a call on Sunday, August 30th. Micayla has a Bachelor’ of Science degree in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Program Management from NC State University. She graduated in May with a Master of Divinity degree from Campbell Divinity School. Micayla brings a diversity of experiences in youth and children’s ministry. She is a person of deep faith and a sustaining sense call to ministry. She will share her testimony, offer the Children’s Message, and participate in other elements of the worship service on her call Sunday. Micayla will share her second anniversary with her husband, Eric, in October.
Per the church’s by-laws, the church will will hold a special called business meeting with the single issue of voting on the call of Micayla Neill as our next Associate Pastor for Family Ministries. There will be a ballot vote for those able to worship in-person that morning. In addition, we will offer a drive-by ballot voting option for one hour for all members that joined the worship service through one of our live-stream options. The quorum requirement is 10% of our membership, which is a minimum of 59 caste ballots. The candidate must receive a two-thirds affirmation of those that participate in the voting process. Our hope is that as many as possible will chose to participate in one of the two voting options.
