Lawrence’s wife, Heather, is a Campbell University graduate and works as a Certified Athletic Trainer with UNC Orthopedics. Together they have three children: Jackson, Devon, and Kennedy. They also try to keep up with their two terrier-mixes Widget and Oliver.

He loves the beach, mountains, and cheering on the Tarheels and the Camels.

Derrick was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. He still goes back from time to time to visit his parents. After graduation he went on to study engineering and Texas A&M for two years and then transferred to Baylor University to pursue his passion for music.

The love of his life is Brooke. They met in college as dance partners in a show choir called “Showtime!” at Baylor University and have been dance partners ever since. Confident in the future God had planned for them, Derrick proposed to Brooke the night of Y2K on the San Antonio riverwalk. She accepted and they celebrated as fireworks exploded around them. They were married just months later with a multitude of family and friends in attendance on a beach under a gazebo in Cancún, Mexico in the fall of 2000.

They are so grateful to God for their two children, Anson and Alayna. Anson is a student at Texas A&M University pursuing a degree in kinesiology and sports science and works for Texas A&M Athletics in support of the football team. He has plans to pursue graduate studies and a career in physical therapy. Alayna attends Apex High School. She enjoys musical theater, volleyball, music, and spending time with friends. She aspires to study veterinary medicine and follow her brother to study at Texas A&M.

Derrick graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Music in Applied Music with an emphasis in Vocal Performance studies. Prior to coming to Westwood, Derrick served church music ministries in Lewisville, Hillsboro, and Lorena,TX. He answered a call to ministry 2010 and has been serving the Lord with gladness ever since. Prior to ministry, Derrick worked as a sales manager, corporate trainer, and marketing manager in Dallas,TX.

Derrick has sung and travelled with choirs all his life and also enjoys singing in quartets and small ensembles with family and friends. He enjoys playing and watching sports of all kinds but especially enjoys playing basketball, volleyball, and disc golf. Derrick and Brooke enjoy leading in worship and enjoy sharing time and talent in ministry together.

Born and raised in the Raleigh area, Amanda has been a part of the Westwood Family her whole life. Her best memories growing up involve being at Westwood during her time as a youth. She graduated in December of 2020 from Campbell University with a BS in Elementary Education and is currently enrolled in Campbell’s Divinity School to obtain her Masters in Divinity with a concentration in Christian Education. She is also currently teaching Fourth Grade for an Elementary school in Cary, NC.

Some of the things Amanda enjoys most during her free time would be working out, reading, going to the beach, and especially loves going to and enjoy all things Disney-related.

He and his wife Gloria served as Missionaries to Brazil for 14 years. Rev. Allard served as Pastor at Westwood from 1995 to 2008. He led the church through two building campaigns and shepherded Westwood through its greatest season of growth. He has had a lasting impact on the life and ministry of the church. In addition to Westwood, Rev. Allard has held North Carolina Pastorates in Bailey, Salisbury, Boone, and Morehead City, and interim positions in Wallace and Clinton. He and Gloria have 3 grown children and 4 Grandchildren. The Allards live in Apex, NC.
