Senior Adult Ministry
Senior Adults at Westwood do not live in a silo, but are an active part of the overall ministries of the church.
But, we also are intentional about creating special ministry opportunities and social opportunities for Senior Adults.
We love to get together. One of the ways we do that is our Triple L (Live, Love, Laugh) Senior Adult Luncheons: Monthly Covered Dish lunch with programs of interest, including music, current events, subjects important to Senior Adults, history, comedy.
We join with other churches in participating in the Raleigh Baptist Association’s Fall and Spring Senior Adult Rallies. We also regularly schedule trips for Senior Adults to area points of interest as well as trips where we can enjoy the numerous entertainment venues in our region. Some of our more recent trips include the Holly Springs Cultural Center programs, Temple Theatre, Carolina’s Center for the Performing Arts in Sanford, and the Rudy Theater in Selma.
We also usually hold at least one overnight trip each year. Past trips have included Myrtle Beach variety shows, Billy Graham Library, and Washington, DC.
