Westwood Baptist Church

Updated Mask Policy—8/20/21

Based upon an August 16, 2021 mask mandate by the Town of Cary, recommendations by the CDC, and the recent increase in COVID-19 cases in our area, the Church Council believes it is in the best interest of the entire church family to require masks when inside the church building with the following exceptions/clarifications:

  • Speakers at the podium, because of social distancing, may remove their mask while speaking.
  • If social distancing can be accomplished, vocalists on the stage will be able to sing unmasked.
  • The choir, due to not being able to practice social distancing, will wear masks.
  • Masks should be worn in Sunday School classes; however, the teacher may teach without a mask if they can maintain social distancing.

We want to be able to continue in-person Bible study and worship. We believe this step will allow us to  continue to offer these vital opportunities, while also striving to maintain the safest environment we can.  We will revisit this policy at the next Church Council meeting or when the CDC or Town of Cary requirements change, whichever occurs first.
