Our Partners

Westwood has chosen thirteen strategic mission partnerships and defined mission projects to help us impact our community, our nation, and the world.

We also provide budget support for an array of Baptist organizations that share our missional heart.

Alliance Medical Ministry

Alliance Medical Ministry provides access to comprehensive primary care to working, uninsured adults living in Wake County.

Backpack Buddies/Apex Middle School

Westwood is partnering with Apex Middle School to provide the food resources the school staff needs to provide appropriate food for children in the Backpack Buddies program. We do a food drive twice a year to ensure the children facing food insecurity have the food resources they need.

Baptist on Mission/NC Baptist Men – Disaster Relief

This partnership plays an essential coordinating and directing role in our disaster response efforts across North Carolina. Westwood is active in disaster relief ministries and maintains our own tool trailer to help us be ready to step up in a moment’s notice.

Baptist Dental Bus/NC Baptist Men

Westwood hosts the NC Baptist Men’s Dental Bus annually. This allows our church to partner to meet the needs of those without regular access to dental care in our community.

Carying Place

Carying Place serves working homeless families with children in our community who are experiencing homelessness by teaching life skills for attaining independent living while providing short-term housing and support services to address their individual needs.

Dorcas Ministries

Dorcas Ministries provides compassionate assistance to area residents to empower people to become stable and self-sufficient. They are a critical reference and referral partner for individuals and families in crisis.

Easter Basket Project—Wake County Human Services

Each year the Westwood family is invited to help shop for, and prepare, over 100 Easter Baskets for children in foster care in our county.

Habitat for Humanity of Wake County—Baptist Build

Westwood is a participating church in an effort that partners Baptist churches from across Wake County together to build one or more homes a year for those that have been qualified through Habitat for Humanity’s screening process.

Healing Transitions

Healing Transitions provides a long-term recovery program, overnight shelter, non-medical detox, and family services for those over 18 dealing with addiction issues in Wake County.

Kennedy Home/NC Baptist Homes for Children

Westwood has developed a long term partnership relationship with the Kennedy Home, a part of the NC Baptist Homes for Children system. Westwood has engaged in doing small scale construction and renovations for the Kennedy Home. In addition, the Westwood family is invited to participate in a coordinated effort to help provide Christmas gifts for the children at the home during the Christmas season.

Oak City Cares

Oak City Cares is a hub for connecting individuals and families, who are at risk of, or are experiencing homelessness, to coordinated services that create a path to stable housing and renewed hope. Westwood provides food and volunteer support to provide breakfast every fifth Sunday for those who come to eat and seek hope.

Westwood is glad to provide missional budget support for the following organizations:

Raleigh Baptist Association, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of NC, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, NC Baptist Men, and the Women’s Missionary Union of NC. We also participate in the CBF Offering for Global Mission.
